Do you realize that you run the risk of losing your individuality if you meld with this traditionalist organization. Do you want to have a brand rather than your name? Do you want to be classified as an obscure element of a system rather than be above the rest and shine like the proverbial star? Or do you hope that you would acquire the brilliance of so many stars that you would join? I hope not, because that would be borrowed illumination, a reflection rather than a radiation, shining like the moon but out of a borrowed luminescence.
But you are right, after all. Being AFAG will set you to a road to being a star. It is not an easy road, I assure you. It is lined with traps and pitfalls and wrong turns. But AFAG will be there, with band aid and a GPS.

Looking for a professional geological organization?
We have a wide network of people from various sectors (i.e. academe, industry and government). You might come across your next employer to be our Brods and Sis.
Looking for technical consultants?
Our pool of highly skilled people are a great resource for technical consulting on various geological fields in the Philippines and abroad. Other members have also branched out into different fields of expertise like photography and special education.
Perks?
We conduct a monthly knowledge and experience sharing program that requires no membership to attend. The one big perk of being AFAG is the camaraderie that crosses generations. Friendship without borders is truly amazing. Dare to be one of us!

Did you know that AFAG members were pioneers in the geospatial field?
When everyone else barely understood its significance, some members created a GIS company called: Cybersoft Integrated Geoinformatics, Inc. By 2000, CyberSoft had the most complete, privately-owned digital map database of the country. To showcase its capability in developing web-based mapping applications, CyberSoft launched www.mapcentral.ph in 2001. MapCentral is the first map-based website in the Philippines.
